Ric was assigned to RVAH-9 based at Sanford Florida. The squadron sailed to the Mediterranean aboard the "Sara" in 1967-68.  
The Vigilante was an electronic and photo recon aircraft. Ric maintained the RA5C Vigilante's electronic countermeasures (ECM) system and also evaluated the electronic intelligence gathered by the Vigilante's ECM. 
The RA-5C Vigilante was a very large, but sleek reconnaisance aircraft that was capable of reaching an altitude of over 90,000 feet. |
